Alabama A&M set to open SWAC Women's Soccer Tournament

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — The women's soccer postseason has arrived, and Alabama A&M has its sights set on a tournament run.

Alabama A&M (5-11-1) plays Texas Southern (6-7-3) today at 3 p.m. to open the SWAC women's soccer tournament at Prairie View A&M.

Alabama A&M is making its first SWAC tournament appearance since 2015. Ayanna Gooden leads the Bulldogs this season with four goals, while Kahdian Wright-Brown, Valery Gomez and Nia Thompson have scored three goals each.

Jodi Medina has recorded 73 saves as Alabama A&M's goalkeeper.

Alabama A&M played Texas Southern during the regular season on Oct. 5, with the Tigers edging the Bulldogs 1-0 in Houston.
