Women's Volleyball advances past Alcorn State in SWAC quarterfinals

Box Score ITTA BENA, Miss. — Maya Evans led Alabama A&M with 14 kills as the top-seeded Bulldogs swept Alcorn State 3-0 Friday afternoon in the SWAC women's volleyball tournament quarterfinals at Mississippi Valley State.

Alabama A&M (24-14) plays in the tournament semifinals on Saturday at 2 p.m. The tournament championship is scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. in Itta Bena.

Alabama A&M defeated Alcorn State 25-16, 25-20, 25-9.

Megan Evans finished with nine kills and 30 assists for Alabama A&M, while Jaelin Gant had eight kills and six digs. Terra Brooks led the Bulldogs with 15 digs, while Mine Centinoz had 11 digs and eight assists.

Ashley Jackson led Alabama A&M with four blocks.

Sydney Joseph led Alcorn State with seven kills.
