Men's Basketball falls at Northwestern State in overtime

NATCHITOCHES, La. — Ishmael Lane poured in 18 points as Northwestern State rallied past Alabama A&M 70-66 in overtime Friday night in a non-conference men's basketball game.

Alabama A&M (0-5) led by 10 at one point in the first half, and the Bulldogs took a 31-26 cushion into halftime.

But Lane and company did not fade away.

Northwestern State (2-4) used a series of scoring runs in the second half to chip away at the Alabama A&M lead before Lane drained a pair of clutch free throws with 33 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the score and force overtime.

The momentum never shifted back in Alabama A&M's favor.

Lane made a jumper and drained a 3-pointer as Northwestern State used a 7-2 run in overtime to put the game away.

Jalen Reeder led Alabama A&M with 24 points, while Andre Kennedy scored 16 with seven rebounds.

Alabama A&M travels to New York City on Sunday to play Fordham.
