Volleyball Earns 3-1 Win over Jackson State

JACKSON, Miss. – Terra Brooks put away 21 kills on a .349 attack percentage to lead Alabama A&M (2113, 17-1) to a four-set win over Jackson State (11-22, 9-7) Sunday afternoon at T.B. Ellis Gymnasium. The Lady Bulldogs dropped set one 24-26, but rebounded to prevail by scores of 25-22, 25-16, and 25-22.
 
Alana Cox added 13 kills for the regular-season champions, while Maya Evans and Jaelin Gant each put down nine kills. Megan Evans dished out 40 assists and picked up eight digs.
 
Marina Brito led Jackson State with 14 kills and 10 total blocks, hitting .471 in the match. Tielar Richards added 12 kills, and Camry Dabney notched 11 putdowns. Priscilla Sanchez led with 27 assists, and Kinly Carter put up 19 helpers. Alexandra Burney and Markayisha Masani posted eight digs each to lead the Lady Tigers in that regard.
 
AAMU outhit Jackson State .310-.230 over the course of the match.

The Lady Bulldogs close out the regular season at Southern Mississippi at 6 p.m. tonight.
