Women's Basketball falls to Jacksonville State

HUNTSVILLE — Rayven Pearson led Jacksonville State with 10 points as the Gamecocks used a second-half rally to top Alabama A&M 55-48 Wednesday night in a non-conference women's basketball game.

Alabama A&M (2-6) led the majority of the game, and built an eight-point cushion by midway into the third period when Ashlyn Dotson scored on three consecutive possessions.

Dotson led Alabama A&M with 13 points, while Nigeria Jones scored 12 points with seven rebounds. Tierra Dark finished with 11 points.

But Jacksonville State (4-4) rallied back in the fourth period, outscoring Alabama A&M 17-10 in the final 10 minutes of regulation. 

Chloe Long finished with nine points for Jacksonville State.

Alabama A&M hosts Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday.
