Baseball Falls at Alabama, 15-0

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-- In the first game of its two-game series, the Alabama A&M baseball team was shutout at Alabama Tuesday evening. The Crimson Tide outhit the Bulldogs 14-4 on the day.

Alabama A&M (5-11) struggled offensively, posting only four hits in the game. Senior JT O'Reel recorded a double in the first and freshman Luke Simpson collected his first career hit in the second with a single up the middle. Jonathan Smith II recorded a single in the third and O'Reel collected the Bulldogs fourth hit with a single up the middle in the top of the fourth.
 
 Alabama (14-3) got on the board quickly in the game, putting up eights runs in the first inning to take the big lead early. The Crimson Tide got six more runs in the fifth inning to make the score 14-0.  

Alabama's Chandler Taylor led off the sixth with a solo homer to allow Alabama to take the contest, 15-0.

Casey Warner (0-1) took the loss for the Bulldogs in two innings of work. He gave up eight runs on nine hits while striking out one. Jose Figueroa, Clayton Warner and Trevor Sanders also saw action on the mound for Alabama A&M.

Mason Duke (2-0) got the win for the Crimson Tide after throwing six frames. He struck out five and walked one. Duke combined with Brock Guffey for the shutout.

The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide close out their two-game series Wednesday evening, March 14. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at Sewell-Thomas Stadium
