HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M took game two of the three game series with Mississippi Valley State, 12-2 on Senior Day Saturday.
The Bulldogs (9-35, 6-14 SWAC) got off to a hot start. AAMU scored one run in each of the first three innings to take a 3-0 lead. Carson McGregory hit an RBI single in the first to open the scoring.
Wilanier Betancourt knocked in a RBI double in the second to make the score 2-0, and J.T. O'Reel hit an RBI double in the third to give the Bulldogs a three run advantage.
MVSU (11-27, 9-11 SWAC) kept the game close thorough the fourth. The Delta Devils scored two runs in that frame, to make it a one run game. Wendell Rieves hit a two run homer to make the score 3-2.
The Bulldogs pulled away late scoring five runs in the sixth and four in the eighth, for the 12-2 final.
Rieves was 1 for 3 from the plate with two RBIs and one run scored in the loss for MVSU.
O'Reel went 3 for 5 with four RBIs and one run scored in the win to pace the Bulldogs.
