Lewis makes splash with double-double, Women's Basketball wins at San Diego State

SAN DIEGO — Dariauna Lewis' second start as a member of the Alabama A&M women's basketball program was a hit.

Lewis recorded a double-double as Alabama A&M topped San Diego State 61-53 Thursday afternoon to open a two-game West Coast road trip.

San Diego State (2-2) did not have an answer for Lewis.

Lewis, a 6-foot-1 sophomore who transferred from Missouri State, led Alabama A&M (1-1) with 31 points, 17 rebounds and four blocked shots.

Alabama A&M raced to a commanding lead early, opening the game with a 25-8 run and taking a 22-point cushion into halftime.

Jameica Cobb finished with seven points for Alabama A&M, while Jasmine Stanley scored six. Nigeria Jones had five points and five rebounds.

Sophia Ramos led San Diego State with 12 points and Tea Adams added 11.

Alabama A&M plays at California Baptist on Saturday.
