Harper pours in 23, Women's Basketball runs past Florida A&M

TALLAHASSEE — DeShawna Harper poured in 23 points as Alabama A&M ran past Florida A&M 77-53 Friday afternoon in a non-conference women's basketball game.

Alabama A&M (4-6) led almost the entire game.

Harper made a pair of 3-pointers early in the game as Alabama A&M built a three-point lead by the end of the third period. The Bulldogs outscored Florida A&M (2-8) 18-9 in the second period, taking a 41-29 cushion into halftime.

Harper made four 3-pointers in the game and was 8 of 16 from the field.

Dariauna Lewis finished with 19 points and four rebounds for Alabama A&M, while Jasmine Stanley scored 10. Jameica Cobb added eight points.

Alaina Rice led Florida A&M with 15 points.

Alabama A&M travels to Memphis on Dec. 30. For its final non-conference game.
