Roop drive in 4, Alabama A&M baseball wins at UAB

BIRMINGHAM — Dillon Roop drove in four runs as Alabama A&M topped Alabama-Birmingham 16-8 Wednesday night in a non-conference baseball game.

Alabama A&M (6-17) rallied for five runs in the top of the fourth inning to take the lead, and then pushed six across the plate in the seventh to extend the cushion to 15-5.

Peyton Baker got the pitching win, holding UAB (10-12) to three hits while striking out five in5 2/3 innings of relief.
Roop led Alabama A&M with two hits and four RBIs, while Daniel Tart had two hits and three RBIs. Richard Polinsky added two hits and two RBIs.

Alabama A&M hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday to open a three-game Southwestern Athletic Conference series.
