NASHVILLE __ Alabama A&M displayed a dominant performance beating Tennessee State 4-2 Sunday afternoon in a non-conference men's tennis match.

"I was very pleased with the performance," Alabama A&M coach Willis Mbandi said. "Our goal was to be mentally sharp, stay in the moment and play points the right way and that's what I saw on the courts."

The Bulldogs swept in doubles with Cheng Chang Yang and Hsaing Yi Wang winning in No. 1 doubles 6-2, Christian Bigott and Rodrigo Arana Rios won in No. 2 doubles 6-1, and Nishangan Nadaraja and Shakir Elvin won in No. 3 doubles 6-2.

Individually, Nadaraja took No. 2 singles 6-7, 7-6, 5-7, Fermin Ruiz won No. 3 singles 4-6, 1-6, Elvin won No. 4 singles 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, and Rios won No. 5 singles 3-8.

"I wanted the team to stay aggressive especially on pressure points, and the team did that well," Mbandi said. "I think the way we played will give us confidence as we continue to grow as a team."

Alabama A&M plays Florida A&M in Montgomery on April 6th.
