Texas Southern holds off Alabama A&M men's basketball

HUNTSVILLE — Jeremy Combs recorded a double-double as Texas Southern held off Alabama A&M 66-61 Monday night in a Southwestern Athletic Conference men's basketball game.

Playing with an injury-depleted roster, Alabama A&M tried to pull off an upset of one of the SWAC's top teams in its final home game of the season.

Alabama A&M kept it close until the final seconds, but in the end, Texas Southern's depth was the difference.
Combs finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Texas Southern, while Jalyn Patterson added 15 points and eight rebounds.

Playing in the final home game of his Alabama A&M career, Alabama A&M forward Andre Kennedy had a strong performance, scoring 26 points with 11 rebounds.

Alabama A&M travels to Jackson State on Thursday.
