Jackson State tops Alabama A&M women's basketball

JACKSON, Miss. — Marniesha Hamer poured in 26 points as Jackson State topped Alabama A&M 69-51 Thursday night in a Southwestern Athletic Conference women's basketball game.

Jackson State (15-13, 11-6 in SWAC) led the entire game, taking a 28-20 cushion into halftime. The Tigers outscored the Bulldogs 21-14 in the fourth period to pull away for the double-digit win.

Nigeria Jones led Alabama A&M (13-15, 8-9) with 25 points, while Natalie Collins scored 12.

Christina Ellis added 17 points for Jackson State.

Alabama A&M travels to Grambling State on Saturday to close out the regular season.
