Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PRAIRIE VIEW, Tx. ^__ Alabama A&M opened their conference schedule this afternoon with wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (3-1) and Southern (3-0) in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Roundup hosted by Prairie View A&M.
 
The Lady Bulldogs (5-10, 1-0 in SWAC) defeated the Golden Lions (0-13) in four sets to by scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, and 25-15. Later on in the day the Bulldogs swept Southern (0-13) by scores of 25-18, 25-17, 26-24 to wrap up the day.
 
AAMU 3, UAPB 1
Sophomore Alana Cox led the Bulldogs with a match-high 17 kills, while reigning SWAC Players of the Week Terra Brooks (12 kills, 12 digs) and Megan Evans (36 assists, 7 digs) also made major contributions.
 
Defensively, the reigning SWAC Defensive Player of the Week Maci Battle finished with double-digit digs (13) for the ninth time this season.

The Bulldogs (6-10, 2-0 in SWAC) displayed their balance as Brooks led the squad with 12 kills, while Cox added ten and Jaelin Gant added nine. Megan Evans finished with a match-high 22 assists and eight digs.

UP NEXT
Alabama A&M resume action tomorrow as they continue to compete in the SWAC West Roundup. The Bulldogs will have matches on Saturday against Grambling and Prairie View before taking on Texas Southern in the final match of the weekend.
