Men's Basketball falls at Mississippi Valley State

ITTA BENA Miss. __ Mississippi Valley State made a late run and Alabama A&M was not able to recover as the Delta Devils topped the Bulldogs 67-61 Monday night in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game.

With an eight-point lead about midway into the second half, Alabama A&M (6-16, 3-8 in SWAC) appeared poised to claim an important conference road win.

But in the final 10 minutes, momentum shifted.

Mississippi Valley (2-21, 2-9) used an 9-0 run to take the lead, and Alabama A&M never was to shift momentum back in its favor.

Garrett Hicks led Alabama A&M with 18 points, making 3 of 6 attempts from beyond the 3-point arc. Jalen Johnson finished with 14 points for the Bulldogs and Cameron Alford scored 10.
