HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (0-0, 0-0 SWAC) women's basketball is not shying away from a challenge as they kick off the 2021-22 season with back-to-back games at Dayton (0-0, 0-0 A-10) and Cincinnati (0-0, 0-0 AAC) on November 9 and 10, respectively.
Against the Flyers, who went 14-5 overall and won the A-10 regular season with a sterling 12-1 league mark, it will be a special 10 a.m. (CST) tip-off before returning to a more normal 6 p.m. (CST) start at Cincinnati. The Bearcats went 8-16 overall and 6-12 in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) a year ago.
The Bulldogs come into the new year following a campaign that saw them go 10-7 overall and 8-5 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), that despite playing with no more than seven players per night and enduring numerous COVID-19 schedule interruptions.
Since coming to the Division I ranks at the turn of this century, A&M has not faced Dayton and will be taking on UC for the third time in program history. Those two teams last met on December 17, 2019 with the Bearcats recording a 62-47 victory. The only other meeting was a narrow 67-61 victory by Cincinnati on December 18, 2006. Both meetings came in the Queen City.
Fans will be able to follow all of the action with live stats and live video for both games, with each being carried on ESPN+. Full coverage of both games will be available on
