Alabama A&M Women's Basketball Returns To Action With Trip To Samford; First Meeting In Five Years

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Following a 12-day layoff, Alabama A&M (0-6, 0-0 SWAC) women's basketball resumes their season-long eight-game road trip as they make the short trip down I-65 to take on Samford (3-6, 0-0 SOCON) on Thursday, December 9. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. at the Pete Hanna Center.

The Bulldogs come into the game having dropped their first six contests of 2021-22, most recently a 66-40 decision at Murray State on November 27. Samford, meanwhile, enters at 3-6 with back-to-back wins over Murray (75-66 on Dec. 4) and Talladega College (88-70 on Dec. 6).

A&M trails the all-time series 4-1 after having won the first meeting 67-55 on November 29, 2002 as part of the Jacksonville State Classic. Since then, the four subsequent contests have been played in either Birmingham or Huntsville with SU taking all four, the most recent being a 61-37 decision on December 3, 2016 at the Hanna Center.
