HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (0-2, 0-0 SWAC) held an offensively strong Troy (2-0, 0-0 SBC) team scoreless for most of the first half before falling 3-0 in an NCAA Division I women's soccer game on Sunday, August 22.
The Trojans offense was engaged throughout the first half as they fired off eight shots but would only be rewarded with 55 seconds left on the clock before the break. Erin Bloomfield would get them on the board as she took a feed from Ella Owens and drilled the ball to the top middle of the goal for a 1-0 margin.
Neither team would find the back of the net over the first 12 minutes of the second half before Troy would respond by extending their lead as Tatyum Terrell connected with Bloomfield who would put the ball in the identical spot at 55:59 for a 2-0 lead.
From there, the Bulldogs defense kept Troy at bay for more than 30 minutes but Bloomfield would capitalize one more time, this time with just over a minute left. She would take it herself and drive the ball to the middle of the net to close out the 3-0 decision.
Freshman forward
