Alabama A&M Welcomes Florida A&M To Elmore For First Time As Part of Maroon Out

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (6-11, 4-3 SWAC) women's basketball returns home to face Florida A&M (2-15, 3-4 SWAC) at Elmore Gymnasium for the first time in recorded program history as the teams meet on Saturday, January 29. Game time is set for 2 p.m.

The Bulldogs are back in action following a pair of victories, 71-67 in come-from-behind fashion at Texas Southern (1/22) and 70-64 at Prairie View (1/24). FAMU, meanwhile comes in having lost three in a row on the court, the last being a 90-34 defeat at Jackson State (1/24).

The caveat with that is a COVID-19 related forfeit victory vs. Alcorn State on January 22 which results in them having more league victories than as indicated by their overall record. This stems from a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) decision to count such forfeits in the league record while the NCAA views the game as a no contest.

It is a brief all-time series history when it comes to the Bulldogs and Rattlers getting together as they have meet only once in available records that date back to 2006-07. That one was a 77-53 victory on December 20, 2019 in Tallahassee, Florida, giving AAMU a 1-0 lead in the series.

Fans will be able to follow all of the action with live stats and live video with full postgame coverage of all the action available on www.AAMUSports.com, the official online home of Alabama A&M Athletics, following the final horn.
