HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M women's volleyball (5-21, 4-6 SWAC) heads to the Bayou for three matches at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Round Up as they look to strengthen their postseason chances from October 30-31. They will take on Alcorn State (3-20, 2-8) and host Southern (2-20, 2-8) at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, on Sunday, October 30 before closing out the weekend with an 11 a.m. outing against Texas Southern (4-16, 4-5) on Monday, October 31.
 
A&M enters play having snapped a five-match losing streak with a 3-0 sweep over Mississippi Valley State (10/24) while Alcorn came up from a seven-match stretch with a narrow 3-2 win at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (10/24). Southern comes in having with three straight losses, the last a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Grambling on October 24, and TSU rides a three-match win streak, most recently 3-2 over Prairie View on that same day.
 
Series History
The Bulldogs have been dominant against Alcorn, holding a massive 30-1 record since the first meeting on October 19, 2005. However, that 30-match win streak was snapped last year as the Braves posted a 3-2 victory (15-13 in the final set) on October 31, 2021. Since October 27, 2007, A&M is 13-4 against Southern but had their six match win streak snapped last year with a 3-0 decision on Halloween.
 
The series against the Tigers also falls in Alabama A&M's favor with a 12-6 margin since November 10, 2006. With a 3-2 victory on October 10, 2021 in Jackson, Mississippi, they have now won six in a row over TSU.
