DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Alabama A&M (8-16, 7-7 SWAC) held on defensively for 40 minutes to defeat Bethune-Cookman (7-19, 5-9 SWAC) 62-60 in an NCAA Division I men's basketball game on Saturday, February 19. 
Junior guard 
Cameron Tucker (Birmingham, Ala.) added 15 points, five boards and four assists while 
Dailin Smith (Colorado Springs, Colo.) chipped in with 15 points, and six rebounds. Junior center 
EJ Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio) also had 15 points with five boards while junior forward 
Jalen Johnson (Indianapolis, Ind.) notched 10 points, four rebounds and two steals.
 
 The Wildcats built a 30-20 lead that included 10 points from Joe French and eight from Marcus Garrett with 4:14 showing on the clock. The Bulldogs would respond with an 8-2 run to close the gap and head into the break trailing 32-28.
AAMU would start the second half with a 23-13 run that included six points each from Williams, Johnson and Tucker to flip the switch and take the advantage, 51-45 with 6:09 left on the clock before B-CU had a 10-4 burst to tie the game 55-55.
 
Over the remainder of the frame the Bulldogs would score seven of the final 12 points that consisted of three points each from Tucker and Williams to close out the 62-60 victory.
 
Marcus would lead the Wildcats with a game-high 21 points, eight rebounds and two steals with Kevin Davis following with 16 points, seven boards, two assists and a pair of steals. French added 14 points to round out the top performers.
 
Alabama A&M will travel to Tallahassee, Florida on Monday, February 21 to take on Florida A&M. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. EST at the Lawson Center.
