Alabama A&M Wraps Up Louisiana Swing With SWAC Tournament Rematch At Grambling

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (8-12, 6-4 SWAC) women's basketball wraps up their trip through Louisiana with a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) rematch with Grambling (9-12, 6-4 SWAC) on Monday, February 7. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in Grambling, Louisiana.

The Bulldogs enter the matchup having just had their four-game win streak snapped with a 65-58 loss at second place Southern yesterday while GSU has won two straight and five of their last six. The only blemish in that run being an 81-68 loss at league-leading Jackson State (1/29). More recently they have defeated Alcorn State (65-41 on 1/31) on the road and Alabama State (88-56 on 2/5) at home.

The matchup is a familiar and tightly contested one for both teams with the Tigers holding a narrow 17-15 advantage in 32 meetings since the 2006-07 season. Last season the teams met in back-to-back games at the end of the year with Grambling posting a slim 72-68 victory in Louisiana on March 6 before claiming a SWAC Tournament Quarterfinal five days later by a 58-50 score.

The clubs are both 10-5 on their home court with the last time A&M won in Grambling being January 5, 2012 with a 76-64 decision. In terms of winning streaks in the series, A&M delivered seven straight from January 7, 2008 through January 4, 2011 while GSU's longest run was six consecutive from March 7, 2015 to January 1, 2018.

Fans will be able to follow all of the action with live stats and live video along with full postgame coverage of all the action available on www.AAMUSports.com, the official online home of Alabama A&M Athletics, following the final horn.
