HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M (2-8, 2-2 SWAC) fell by a 4-0 score against Alabama State (7-6, 5-0 SWAC) in an NCAA Division I men's tennis match on Saturday, March 26.
 
The Hornets took the early lead in doubles as freshman Divesh Gahlot (Haryana, India) and junior Cheng Chang (Koahsiung, Taiwan) fell to Sam Bajracharya and Ruan Du Preez 6-3 at No. 2 before freshman Freddie Lawrence and junior German Ruiz Crespo (Mollina, Spain) were defeated by a narrow 7-5 decision by Niila Magga and David Grandinot at No. 3.
 
After the doubles portion, ASU made their mark in singles as Matis Amier defeated Lawrence 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 before Gahlot fell to Grandinot 6-3, 7-6 at No. 4.
 
Freshman Vence Ntcha rallied to win the first set 6-3 before dropping the next two, 6-3 and 6-1 to Chris Andre at No. 1.
 
Alabama A&M will return to the court on Monday, March 28 as they take on North Alabama with first serve set for 1 p.m. at the Huntsville Tennis center.
