HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Even in an ever-changing world of sports, Alabama A&M continues to excel as freshman Jaevon Jordan claimed the 2022 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Esports NBA 2K22 Championship late last month.
A finance major, Jordan earned his way to the finals in Montgomery, Alabama on the campus of Alabama State by virtue of a 4-1 record in the preliminary rounds on A&M's campus. Facing Southern's top challenger on April 23, Jordan pulled out the victory to claim $1,500 in scholarship money to go with bragging rights.
The 2021-22 campaign marks the second year that the SWAC has sponsored Esports league-wide and held a championship since launching in the Fall of 2020.
