HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M women's volleyball (1-10, 0-0 SWAC) is set to wrap up regular season tournament play as they head to Carbondale, Illinois for the Saluki Invitational from September 16-17.
A&M will open against the homestanding Southern Illinois Salukis (5-4, 0-0 OVC) at 10 a.m. before facing Bellarmine (3-6, 0-0 ASUN), a team in transition to NCAA Division I, at 4 p.m. They will then close out the weekend against Southeast Missouri (4-5, 0-0 OVC) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 17.
The meeting with Bellarmine will be the first in program history while they
trail SIU 3-0 and are
1-0 against SEMO. The latter was a 3-1 victory on August 27, 2011 in Memphis, Tennessee and the Salukis and Bulldogs have gotten together in each of the past three seasons that the program has played. All three have come in Carbondale with the first being a 3-0 loss on September 1, 2018. SIU notched a 3-1 decision on September 6, 2019 and then another sweep on September 3, 2021.
