HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M women's volleyball (0-3, 0-0 SWAC) continues to embrace the tournament part of the season as they head to the Skyhawk Invitational hosted by UT-Martin in Martin, Tennessee from September 2-3.
The Bulldogs will open with a pair of matches on the opening day, starting with host UTM at 12:30 p.m.. They will follow that with a first ever meeting with Arkansas State at 3:30 p.m. They will close out the tournament with an 11 a.m. match with Western Carolina on Saturday, September 2.
A&M and Tennessee-Martin have gotten together a total of eight times with the Skyhawks holding a 7-1 advantage all-time. In a series that dates back to 2011, UTM has won the last five meetings, including 3-0 decisions in each of the last three outings on September 4, 2021, September 8, 2018 and September 5, 2016.
Tennessee Martin notched a 3-2 decision on September 7, 2015 following another 3-0 final on September 2, 2014.
The match against Arkansas State will be the first meeting on record between the programs while it will be just the second against WCU. With the latter, the Catamounts hold a 1-0 advantage with a 3-0 decision on September 7, 2013.
