JACKSON, Miss. | The Alabama A&M University volleyball team extended their winning streak to four after beating Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Jackson State, 3-1, on Friday at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center.
The Bulldogs (5-16 overall, 4-3 SWAC) claimed the match with scores of 25-22, 28-26, 22-25, 25-19.
Alabama A&M finished with 55 kills in 140 total attacks, 58 digs, 50 assists, and six total blocks.
Saldy Amparo-Smith led the Bulldogs with a double-double of 18 kills and 11 digs.
Grace Tapscott and
Mackenzie Jefferson recorded 20 and 19 assists, respectively. Defensively,
Michell Jerez posted a team-high 18 digs.
Jackson State (9-8, 5-2) finished with 52 kills in 146 total attacks, 59 digs, 51 assists, and four total blocks.
Alexis Williams led the Tigers with a double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs. Naija Gadis dished out 26 assists, while Karys Dove added 18. Trinity Bryant registered 20 digs and Nyjha Marcelin added 15.
