HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University volleyball team returned to their winning ways, defeating Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Jackson State 3-2 in five sets at the T.M Elmore Gymnasium on Friday.
Alabama A&M (11-18 overall, 10-5 SWAC) claimed the match with scores 25-18, 25-14, 25-14, 25-14, 15-10
Alabama A&M finished with 53 kills in 131 total attacks, 54 digs, 47 assists and 13 solo blocks.
The Bulldogs offense was led by
Saldy Amparo-Smith, who recorded a double-double with 19 kills and 12 digs.
Bailey Duckett registered 18 kills and four blocks.
Grace Tapscott led with a team-high 22 assists.
Michell Jerez led defensively with 15 digs. Amparo-Smith led AAMU with five blocks in the contest.
Jackson State (14-11, 10-5) finished with 56 kills in 153 total attacks, 51 assists, 50 digs and 11 solo blocks.
Alexis Williams led the Tigers offensively with a double-double with 16 kills and 13 assists, Karys Dove dished 33 assists for the team and defensively Trinity Bryant tallied 17 digs in the contest.
