PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | The Alabama A&M University volleyball team's 2023 season came to an end after falling 3-1 to Jackson State in a quarterfinal matchup at the 2023 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Volleyball Tournament Friday at the William J. Nicks Building.

Jackson State claimed the match with scores 22-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-23.
The Tigers, the No. 5 seed, advance to Saturday's SWAC Tournament semifinals and will meet top-seed Alabama State at 2 p.m. The Hornets breezed past Bethune-Cookman, 3-0, In their quarterfinal match. The Bulldogs concluded their season at 12-19.

Alabama A&M, the No.4 seed, finished with 47 kills in 121 total attacks, 45 digs, 45 assists and six solo blocks.

Bailey Duckett paced the Alabama A&M offense, recording a team-high 14 kills, while
Saldy Amparo-Smith added 12 kills.
Mackenzie Jefferson handed out 19 assists and
Michell Jerez tallied 14 digs, defensively.
Kemora Coachman led AAMU with five blocks.

Jackson State (15-12) finished with 61 kills in 133 total attacks, 47 digs, 54 assists and 12 solo blocks.

Hope Briggs led the Tigers offensively with 17 kills, while Karys Dove dished out a match-high 32 assists. Alexis Williams and Kymorah Carter posted eight digs each, and Kyahana Robinson tallied seven blocks.
