NASHVILLE, Tenn. | The Alabama A&M University men's basketball team could not overcome a cold shooting first half as the Bulldogs fell, 106-81, to Lipscomb on Saturday afternoon at Allen Arena.
Alabama A&M (0-2) shot 29.6 percent (8-of-27) in the first half as Lipscomb (3-2) raced out to a 51-28 advantage at the break. The Bisons never looked back as Alabama A&M dropped the road tilt.
Dailin Smith and
Dylan Mclean each recorded 17 points to pace the Alabama A&M offense. Smith went 4-of-7 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the foul line, along with five rebounds and one assist. Mclead was 6-of-12 shooting and added three boards, one block and one steal.
Derrin Boyd led three Bisons players in double figures with 25 points, on 9-of-14 shooting, with three boards, three steals and one assist. A.J. McGinnis added 20 points, on 7-of-11 from the field, with three assists and two rebounds. Cody Head chipped in 11 points, two boards, one assist, one steal and one block.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A
Dailin Smith triple cut Lipscomb's early lead to 8-7 with just under 17 minutes to play, but the Bisons responded with nine straight points, capped by a 3-pointer by Tj Johnson as Lipscomb pushed the advantage to 17-7 with exactly 13 minutes to play in the opening half.
The Bisons used a 26-13 run over the next nine minutes, extending the lead to 43-20 after a three by Cody Head.
Lipscomb continued to control the first half, taking a 51-26 lead into the half.
The Bisons opened the second half strong, extending the margin to 65-35 with 16:45 remaining.
The Bulldogs could not recover in the second half as Lipscomb pulled away for the victory.
