PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | The Alabama A&M women's soccer team's 2023 season came to an end after falling in a quarterfinal matchup at the 2023 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Soccer Tournament to Grambling State 3-0 on Thursday at the PVAMU Soccer Complex.
Grambling State (13-4-4) advances to Fridays semifinal match against Texas Southern-Arkansas Pine-Bluff Friday at 3 p.m. Alabama A&M concludes its season with a 3-16 season.
The Lady Tigers got into the scoring column in the 20
th minute as Beatriz Kretteis and Naya Vialva assisted on Sophia Lezizidis' goal as Grambling State took a 1-0 lead. GSU double the advantages as Kretteis scored on a penalty kick in the 24
th minute.
Lezizidis added her second goal of the match in the 50
th minute as Grambling State extended the lead to 3-0. Alabama A&M could not recover from the three-goal deficit.
