HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Alabama A&M men's tennis hosted their final home match of the season on Monday for a non-conference matchup with Lipscomb. The Bulldogs made a strong surge in singles play, but the Bison took the match 4-3.

The two squads clashed from the first serve as Lipscomb claimed the doubles point with two aggressive wins on courts two and three to open the match. At the No. 2 position,
Vence N'Tcha and
Lebogang Mashego fell 6-4 to their Bison opponents while
Freddie Lawrence and Arnav Panthage were defeated 6-1 on court three.

The competition continued in singles play in a similar fashion as Lawrence fell to his opponent on court five (6-0, 6-3), followed shortly after by a loss from Mashego at the No. 6 spot (6-1, 6-5).

The Bulldogs came back swinging and cut lead to one point with wins on courts three and four.
Arnav Pathange earned a straight set win at the No. 4 spot to put A&M on the board (6-1, 6-2), while
Chetanna Amadike showed his grit in a drawn-out fight with his opponent on court three, with scores of 7-5, 6-1, 6-0.

The pressure was on for courts one and two and the competitors from both teams rose to the occasion for a pair of electric three-set matches. N'Tcha tied the score at 3-3 in his pairing on court one (6-4, 7-6, 6-3). However, Chih Lan fell in the final singles battle 7-5, 6-4, 6-4 for the Lipscomb win.

Next up for the program is the SWAC Tennis Championships, held in New Orleans, beginning on Friday, April 21 through Sunday, April 23.
