NEW ORLEANS, La. – Alabama A&M men's tennis defeated Prairie View A&M 4-0 on Friday to earn their spot in the semifinal round of the SWAC Tennis Tournament, held at the City Park Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs were dominant in doubles play, starting with the pair of Yin Chin Lan and SWAC Freshman of the Year
Chetanna Amadike defeating Caleb Eaton and Jaydn Boone 6-1 on court two.
Arnav Pathange and
Divesh Gahlot clinched the doubles point for the team, after also taking their matchup 6-1 on court three.

Play moved to singles where Alabama A&M made quick work of Prairie View. Amadike was the first to clear his court, defeating Jorge Gonzalez in unrelenting fashion, 6-1, 6-0 from the fourth spot in the lineup.

Pathange was the next to put a point on the board for the home team, taking a 6-2 first set win over Martin before a 6-0 second set to round out the game.

Freddie Lawrence clinched the match for Alabama A&M, with a 6-3, 6-0 win, with both
Vence N'Tcha and Chin Lan leading as play was concluded.

The Bulldogs will return to the courts on Saturday morning as they will take on No. 2 Jackson State, for a chance to claim the SWAC title. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
