ITTA BENA, Miss. __ Alabama A&M softball picked up their second win of the weekend on Saturday, with a 10-2 win over Mississippi Valley State on the road to secure the series win.

Venice Sanders was clutch at the plate on Saturday, driving in five on two hits to lead Alabama A&M past the Delta Devilettes 10-2 in the second game of the series. The senior drove in runs on a triple in the first and a double in the second.

Alabama A&M opened the scoring in the first inning, when Zharia Jones grounded out, bringing home Allyson Riches for the first run. Sanders drove in her first two runs with a triple to right field, followed by a pair of runs on a rare inside-the-park home run from Brooklyn Wallace for a 5-0 lead.
The Bulldogs took a decisive 8-0 lead heading into the bottom of the second after another three RBI from Sanders, this time off a double to right. Jones, Serena Herbranson, and Dakota Daniels all scored off the hit.
After a pair of runs from Mississippi Valley, A&M added another two runs in the fourth and fifth on a sacrifice fly from Herbranson, followed by Calia Rooks scoring the last run on a passed ball.
Sydney Hall (5-5) took the win for the Bulldogs, surrendering just two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out four and not walking anyone.
Gleenabah Tsosie led things off in the circle for Mississippi Valley. The pitcher went five innings, allowing ten runs on seven hits and striking out three.
Alabama A&M earned a rare inside-the-park home run in the win from Brooklyn Wallace in the first inning to also score Sanders in the process. The team collected seven total hits on the day, led by Sanders and Dakota Daniels both with a pair of hits in the contest.
The Bulldogs will shoot for the weekend sweep on Sunday afternoon, with first pitch scheduled for 12 p.m.Â
