HUNTSVILLE, Ala. __ Despite another strong offensive output on Sunday afternoon, Alabama A&M dropped their final game of the series against Florida A&M by a score of 18-7 at the Bulldog Baseball Field.

Mekhi Lloyd and
Tommy Easley led the way from the plate, going 2-for-4 and 3-for-5 respectively on the day. Easley also drove in three runs and was followed by
Devin Tonkins who also drove in three and scored twice.

The Bulldogs got on the board first with a fast start in the second. After walks from
Jalen Ford and
Chevalier Dorris to open the inning, Tonkins produced a two-out single to center to drive home both runners. Easley later drove in the final two scores of the frame, also on an RBI single to center field, bringing home Myles Jackson and Tonkins for the 4-0 A&M lead.

The Rattlers found their offense in the third, pounding out three hits, including an RBI double and two-RBI triple to cut the lead to just one run, however the Bulldogs answered in the bottom half of the inning. Ford tripled to right to start, while
Brycen Hammonds brought him home with a sacrifice fly to left field for the 5-3 lead.

Florida A&M began to take control in the fourth, crossing the plate six times off four hits and a pair of errors before adding another nine over the next three innings.

A&M added a run in both the sixth and seventh, as Easley drove in. Tonkins for the second time on the day, followed by a sacrifice fly from Tonkins to bring home Hammonds for the final score of the game.

The Bulldogs will return to action in a midweek non-conference game against Murray State on the road on Tuesday, April 18 with a 2 p.m. start, before returning home for another three-game conference series against Jackson State starting on Friday, April 21.
