MURRAY, Ky. – Alabama A&M dropped a midweek non-conference matchup against Murray State on Tuesday evening, giving up seven runs in the first three innings to the Racers, who controlled the game from start to finish at Johnny Reagan Field.

Alabama A&M was held to just two hits as a team, as first baseman Blake Martin and left fielder Mekhi Lloyd earned hits. The Bulldogs also left six runners on base in the loss.

The Racers took the lead in the first with a home run to center field, followed by an RBI double to go up 2-0. They broke the game open with five in the second inning off five hits and aided by an error.

The Bulldogs strung together some base runners in the top of the seventh, as Martin starting the inning with a ground-rule double. Chevalier Dorris drew a walk with one out and was later followed with a two-out walk from pinch hitter Christian Soto to load the base, however the frame ended with a strikeout on the next at bat.

Murray State added its 10th run in the bottom of the inning with an infield single to drive in the final run to close out the ball game.

Four total Bulldog pitchers made mound appearances in the contest, with Josue Espaillat, Gabe Nicholson, and Terence Sales combining to allow just four hits and three runs out of the bullpen.
