HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University men's basketball team looks to get back into the win column after Thursday night's loss as the Bulldogs play host to Jackson State on Saturday in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) game. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. from the AAMU Event Center.
 
Alabama A&M (3-13 overall, 2-1 SWAC) saw its two-game winning streak come to an end after a 74-71 loss to Alcorn State on Thursday. Jackson State (6-9, 2-0) have won back-to-back games after picking up a 73-63 victory on Thursday over Alabama State.

Messiah Thompson scored 17 points, along with five points, three assists and two steals, but it wasn't enough in a 72-64 loss at Jackson State.
 
Alabama A&M trailed 36-29 at the break and could not recover in the road loss.
 
Omari Peek came off the bench to add 14 points, while Dailin Smith chipped in 11 points and six points.
 
Trace Young came off the bench to provide 24 points, on 7-of-12 shooting, with nine boards to pace Jackson State. Coltie Young and Jamarcus Jones recorded 14 and 13 points, respectively.
 
LAST TIME OUT – ALABAMA A&M
Dailin Smith finished with 17 points, including tying a career-high three 3-pointers, along with five rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot, but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs fell to Alcorn State, 74-71.
 
Lorenzo Downey and Omari Peek recorded 12 and 11 points, respectively in the home loss.
 
Alabama A&M and Alcorn State were tied at 65 with 2:29 left, but the Braves used a small 6-0 run and held off a late 3-point attempt in picking up the road win.
 
LAST TIME OUT – JACKSON STATE
Ken Evans Jr. played nearly all 40 minutes on Thursday as he went 7-for-13 from the floor and 9-of-10 from the foul line in scoring a team-high 24 points in the win over Alabama State.
 
Jordan O'Neal and Chase Adams each added 16 points as the Tigers used a dominating first half to defeat the Hornets. 
 
Jackson State, which shot 47.1 percent from the floor, scored 28 points in the paint and 28 points off 20 ASU turnovers.
