Bulldogs fall to Wildcats on Friday Night

THE HILL| The Alabama A&M Bulldogs returned to the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium after a three-match road stretch, but the night proved challenging for the Bulldogs as they fell in straight sets (25-17, 25-19, 25-20) to the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats.

Senior Fatima Ramirez and junior Bailey Duckett led the Maroon and White, tallying 10 and eight terminations respectively and eight digs a piece. Saniya Spalding added four blocks on the night, followed by three from Nissan Martinez.

The Wildcats saw a balanced team on both sides of the ball, with four players with at least five kills, and four players with at least six digs. Both Alisha Callendar and Nola Hemphill tallied 12 assists.

The Maroon and White return to play on Sunday as they take on the Rattlers of Florida A&M University at 1 p.m. Sunday will also serve as organization day, and fans are encouraged to represent their organization (student, Greek, social, etc.) with t-shirts, jackets and other paraphernalia. The match is free to the public.
