HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University women's basketball team is coming off a pair of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) victories as the Bulldogs return to the road to face Southern on Saturday. Tip-off against the Jaguars is scheduled for 3 p.m. from the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
 
Alabama A&M (10-11 overall, 5-4 SWAC) is coming off a pair of thrilling games against Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman last week. Meanwhile, Southern (7-13, 5-4) has won two out of its last three games, but fell on Monday night to Jackson State, 63-58.

LAST MEETING 
Amiah Simmons scored 21 points, but it wasn't enough in a 66-53 road defeat to Southern.
 
The Bulldogs shot 31.1 percent from the floor and nearly 59 percent from the foul line in the road loss.
 
Genovea Johnson led the way with 16 points, while Taylor Williams added 11 points and seven rebounds as Southern finished with 42.4 percent shooting from the floor.
 
LAST TIME OUT - ALABAMA A&M
The Bulldogs led by as many as 15 points in the second half, but Bethune-Cookman rallied to force overtime. However, AAMU outscored BCU in the extra period for the 76-72 win.
 
Amiah Simmons, who earned the SWAC's Co-Impact Player of the Week, recorded 17 points and six rebounds. Kaylah Turner and Alisha Wilson each added 15 points, with Wilson pulling down a game-high 18 boards. Darian Burgin chipped in 12 points as Alabama A&M shot 39.2 percent from the floor.
 
LAST TIME OUT – SOUTHERN 
The Jaguars used a 25-point second quarter to take a 32-17 lead into the half, but Jackson State rallied with a 29-point four quarter as the Tigers picked up the 63-58 comeback victory.
 
Genovea Johnson registered 11 points and seven boards, while Taylor Williams added 10 points as Southern shot 32 percent from the floor, including 15.38 percent in the final period.
