HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | The Alabama A&M University men's basketball team got back into the win column on Saturday against rival Alabama State as the Bulldogs will close out the regular season with a pair of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) games, starting on Thursday at the AAMU Event Center.
The Bulldogs begin the final two-game stretch on Thursday with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off against Grambling State during Western/Country Night and conclude the regular season on Saturday during Senior Day against Southern with a 4 p.m. tip-off.
Alabama A&M (9-20 overall, 8-8 SWAC) picked up a much-needed 58-53 home win over rival Alabama State on Saturday. The win moved the Bulldogs into seventh place in the SWAC standings. Grambling State (16-13, 13-3) captured the SWAC regular season title on Monday with a 69-60 win, while Southern (17-12, 11-5) got back into the win column with a 58-44 victory at home versus Florida A&M on Monday.

LAST MEETING VERSUS GRAMBLING STATE
Omari Peek and
Cameron Tucker accounted for 28 points as the Bulldogs pulled away in the second half for a 60-50 win at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center.
The Bulldogs fell behind early, but used a 10-4 run to close out the first half in earning the road win.
Peek and Tucker added 14 points, while
Chad Moodie came off the bench to provide a double-double of 12 rebounds and 11 points.
Kintavious Dozier led Grambling State with 11 points.
LAST MEETING VERSUS SOUTHERN
The Bulldogs nearly rallied from an eight-point second-half deficit in falling to the Jaguars, 69-62, at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
Alabama A&M led by as many as 12 points in the first half, but could not hold off Southern.
Cameron Tucker and
Chad Moodie paced AAMU with 12 points each.
Brandon Davis led Southern with 20 points and Tidjane Dioumassi added 13 points and six assists.
