Rashad Colson and defensive end
Zareon Hayes have been invited to attend the Denver Broncos Rookie Mini Camp.
Colson, a native of Opa Locka, Fla., appeared in eight games last season for the Maroon and White. He registered 21 tackles, including seven solo stops. He had 3.5 tackles for a loss of 20 yards, with two sacks. He forced one fumble and had one quarterback hurry.
Hayes, who was the HBCU Legacy Bowl Defensive MVP, was a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) All-Second Team performer this past season where he finished his collegiate career with 97 total tackles, including 47 solo stops. In addition, he registered 27.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks, with 3.5 coming during the 2023 season.
Hayes received numerous accolades during his senior campaign, including SWAC Preseason First Team, Phil Steele All-SWAC Preseason First Team, The Bluebloods All-SWAC Preseason First Team and the Phil Steele Al-SWAC Postseason Second Team. In addition, the Dillon, S.C. native was selected the SWAC Defensive Player of the Week and FedEx Ground FCS Defensive National Player of the Week Honorable Mention (Sept. 25).
Firm dates on the rookie mini-camp have yet to be announced, but it's expected to take place in early or mid-May.
