Women’s Soccer to Face Stetson on Thursday

THE HILL| Alabama A&M University women's soccer team (0-2-0) will head to the Sunshine State on Thursday to face ASUN opponent Stetson (1-1-0) in DeLand, Fla. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. CT.

Thursday's match up will be the third stop in the Bulldogs' road swing. In their last match, sophomore Liliana Ribiero recorded a season-high 15 saves against the Lipscomb Bisons and allowed no goals in the second half.

The Stetson Hatters opened their season on the road for back-to-back games, first versus the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs. The Hatters would score in the 90th minute to clinch the 2-1 win. Stetson would then battle against Wofford, where they would be unable to find the back of the net during the 90-minute period, and eventually fall 1-0 to the Terriers.

The Bulldogs and Terriers have never faced off on the pitch, and AAMU head coach Prince Borde is looking forward to starting the series on a good note. "This weekend, we are looking forward to creating some history and trusting the process" he said. "We have had a much-improved start to the season. Stetson is a good team, but we have been working hard in practice and the results are right around the corner. Being on the road has brought us together, so we can't wait for this challenge."
