BIRMINGHAM, Ala | Alabama A&M University women's soccer freshman defender Anita Frederick-Sigaran was named as the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
The Alexandria, Va. native scored one goal and recorded two assists in the Bulldogs' 3-2 home opening victory over the University of West Georgia on Sunday.
Frederick-Sigaran now leads the team in assists, and is tied with
Chelsie Charles,
Taylor McNeal and
Jasmine Perez-Acosta for most goals so far this season.
The Bulldogs will return to the pitch on Thursday, Sept. 5 against the Middle Tennesee State Blue Raiders at the Bulldog Soccer Field at 3 p.m.
