THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University women's soccer team (1-4-0) will continue their longest home stretch of the season by hosting the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders (2-3) on Thursday afternoon.  

The Bulldogs look to continue the momentum of their first win, 3-2, in their home opener against the University of West Georgia on Sunday. Senior midfielder Jasmine Perez-Acosta scored the first goal for AAMU in the 14th minute, off an assist from SWAC Defensive Player of the Week, Anita Frederick-Sigaran. After a UWG goal would tie the match, Frederick-Sigaran would find the back of the net herself in the 47th minute to pull the bulldogs ahead. Another Wolves goal would level the match before Frederick-Sigaran would find junior Taylor McNeal in the 83rd minute to give the Bulldogs the win.  

The Blue Raiders are coming off a home win of their own, claiming a decisive 6-2 win over Bellarmine. MTSU leads in the all-time series with Alabama A&M, 9-0, though the teams have not met since 2013.  

AAMU head coach Prince Borde is excited to continue the style of play the team has been displaying. "This game allows us to continue playing well", he said. "There is belief in this group, and we have the ability to play with any team. Middle Tennessee is a different type of team than the last game, so it'll be great for us to be able to get prepared all types of playing style". Getting to play teams in different conferences is something he is looking forward to. " Any Conference USA team is very good, but we can't wait for the challenge and are excited for everyone to come out and support us."
