TUPELO, Miss. | The Alabama A&M men's basketball team dropped an 80-66 decision to Ole Miss on Wednesday night at Cadence Bank Arena despite a strong shooting performance from the perimeter and a balanced scoring effort.
Alabama A&M (6-5) had three players in double figures, led by
Sami Pissis, who recorded 17 points, along with three 3-pointers and adding five assists, while
Kintavious Dozier finished with 15 points.
Koron Davis chipped in 14 points, and
Gabe Kincy added a career-high nine.
Malik Dia paced the Rebels with a game-high 27 points and seven rebounds, while AJ Storr added 14 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Ole Miss (7-4) built an early cushion behind efficient shooting in the opening half, taking a 44-29 lead into intermission after shooting better than 65 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes.
Alabama A&M responded in the second half, outscoring Ole Miss 37-36 over the final 20 minutes.
The Bulldogs shot 50 percent (9-of-18) from three-point range for the game and cut the deficit to as few as 14 points late but could not overcome the first-half gap.

- North Alabama finished with 34 points in the paint, 17 bench points, 14 points off 11 AAMU turnovers, 10 fastbreak points and seven second-chance points
