THE HILL | For the third time this season, the Alabama A&M men's tennis team swept their opponent, claiming a 7-0 victory over the Bethel University Wildcats on Friday afternoon.
Goran Krivokapic and Arnav Pathange were the first to claim a win, defeating Leonel Caspe and Mateo Prado at court two. Just moments later, the duo of Kai Cowcher and Tasso Moreira defeated Gabriel Perini and Licca Nesi on the opening court to claim the doubles point in favor of the Bulldogs.
Yin Chih Lan added another point to the Maroon and White tally after Leonel Caspe retired. Needing just two more to clinch the match, Moreira claimed a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Andrej Jovanovic at singles four and Pathange won court three in a 6-2, 6-1 decision. With both teams electing to play out, Cowcher claimed a 6-3 straight set victory on court one. Krivokapic extended the Bulldog lead to six after a 7-5, 6-4 win over the Wildcats' Lucca Nesi before Freddie Lawrence solidified the sweep, defeating Sho Takenaka 7-5, 6-2 on the final court.
The Bulldogs head to Montgomery, Alabama to continue their conference slate by taking on Southwestern Athletic Conference foe Alabama State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
