THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University women's soccer team will host eight regular season games, as head coach Prince Borde unveiled the 2025 schedule on Wednesday afternoon.
Of the eight contests at the Bulldog Soccer Field, five will be against Southwestern Athletic Conference opponents.
AAMU went 7-11-1 overall and 4-3-1 in conference play last season, including a fourth-seeded appearance in the SWAC Women's Soccer Tournament where they defeated Jackson State in the quarterfinals but fell just short in a 2-1 decision to Texas Southern in the semifinals. The Bulldogs wrapped up the season with four Bulldogs earning post season awards, including Freshman of the Year and Midfielder of the Year honors.
"Our schedule is built for champions", Borde said. "We're taking on high-level competitionm including a Howard team that went to the NCAA Tournament and two strong Conference USA Opponents. These games will challenge us, but we believe we can compete with anyone on our schedule."
The Maroon and White will have a pair of scrimmages prior to the start of the regular season. They will welcome Troy University and Motlow State on Aug. 7 and 10 respectively. AAMU opens the regular season slate with three road contests, first heading north to face Longwood University on Aug. 14 and Delaware State on Aug.17 before heading to the Volunteer State to play Middle Tennessee State on Aug. 21.
The Bulldogs return home for three straight games, welcoming Howard University to Bulldog Soccer field for the home opener on Aug.24. On Aug. 28, Alabama A&M will host Southern Illinois before wrapping up the month playing Jacksonville State on Aug. 31.
AAMU will see its final three non-conference games on the road, first playing Presbyterian College on Sept. 4. The Maroon and White will play in a Battle of the Bulldogs against South Carolina State on Sept. 7 and will head to the Peach State to take on West Georgia for the final match.
The Bulldogs will open SWAC play on The Hill by hosting Jackson State on Sept.26 before playing the 2024 SWAC champions Southern University on Sept. 28. AAMU will see Alcorn State (Oct. 3) and Mississippi Valley (Oct.5) on the road to open the third month of play.
AAMU returns to Rocket City to play Texas Southern ((Oct. 10) and Prairie View A&M (Oct.12) during Homecoming Weekend. In the final road swing for the Bulldogs, Alabama A&M will head to Grambling State before facing off with the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on Oct. 24 and 26 respectively.
Alabama A&M will wrap up the regular season on The Hill with a Halloween rivalry matchup against in-state foe Alabama State on Oct. 31.The 2025 SWAC Women's Soccer Tournament dates have yet to be announced.
"Our focus is clear- we are chasing a SWAC Championship title. Every time we step on the field, we are going to represent Alabama A&M with pride and purpose, and make our fans, university and community proud", said Borde.
