THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University women's soccer team could not recover from a slow start as Southern Illinois jumped out to an early lead in a 4-0 victory on Thursday afternoon at the Bulldog Soccer Field.
The Salukis (4-0) struck for the opening goal in the fourth minute as Nao Katamoto collected the ball inside the six-yard box fired a shot past AAMU goalkeeper
Madelyn Cornwell for the early 1-0 lead.
Southern Illinois added to the advantage with a goal by Nadda Danna in the 16
th minute and Michelle Betancourt in the 19
th minute to push the margin to 3-0.
Alabama A&M's defense held SIU to just one goal in the second half as Danna converted a penalty kick as the Bulldogs fell, 4-0.
