THE HILL | The Alabama A&M University football team had seven members selected to the annual 2025 Phil Steele Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) All-Conference Teams.
Offensive lineman
Tyrell Lawrence and kicker
Victor Barbosa were selected to the first team, while quarterback
Cornelious Brown IV, wide receiver
Donivan Wright, defensive lineman
Nick Glenn, defensive lineman
Xzavier Booker and linebacker
Dimitris Biamby were tabbed to the third team.
Lawrence, a member of the Phil Steele 2024 SWAC postseason team and an All-SWAC Preseason Second Team selection, helped the Bulldog offense rank tops in the SWAC in total offense (444.5 yards per game) and passing offense (260.5 yards per game).
Barbosa missed the early part of last season recovering from an injury, but still went 11-for-11 in field goal attempts. His career-best 45 yarder came in a Thursday night win over Grambling State.
Brown saw action in 11 games for the Bulldogs last season, sporting a 131.7 quarterback rating. He went 127 of 222 passing for 1,666 yards, along with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Birmingham, Ala. native averaged 151.4 passing yards per game. In addition, on the ground, Brown rushed 49 times for 161 yards, with one touchdown, while averaging 3.3 yards per game.
Wright played in 11 games for the Bulldogs last season where he caught 12 passes for 216 yards. He added two touchdowns and averaged 18.0 yards per catch.
Glenn, who was named to the 2025 SWAC Preseason Second Team, registered three quarterback hurries and saw action in all 12 games for the Bulldogs last season. He posted 29 total tackles, including seven solo stops. In addition, he added five tackles for loss, with a half sack.
Booker attended Limestone College last season and will add experience to the Alabama A&M defensive line.
Biamby played in all 12 games for the Maroon & White last season. He was fourth on the team in tackles, with 42, including 18 solo stops. The Coral Gables, Fla. native had 1.5 sacks and 3.0 tackles for loss. In addition, he posted three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two quarterback hurries and one pass breakup.
Fan Day
Fans are invited to watch Alabama A&M's Fan Day on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. inside Louis Crews Stadium. The annual Maroon and White scrimmage will begin at 12 p.m.
Fan Day will feature the Bulldog Walk, an opportunity to meet the AAMU cheerleaders, an MMW Showcase by the marching band and inflatables. Additionally, fans can pick up their 2025 schedule of fall sports, including women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, volleyball and football.
The event is free and open to the public.
Fall Schedule
The Bulldogs open the 2025 season on Saturday, Aug. 30 with a road trip to Arkansas and begins SWAC play at Bethune-Cookman on Saturday, Sept. 27. The first home game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6 against Alcorn State.
Classic Games
Alabama A&M will play in four signature games, hosting Alcorn State in the 15th Annual Louis Crews Classic on Saturday, Sept. 6 in Louis Crews Stadium. The Bulldogs renew their rivalry with Tennessee State in The Legacy Series on Saturday, Sept. 13. AAMU faces Jackson State in the Gulf Coast Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. and conclude the trio of classic games with the 83rd Annual Magic City Classic on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala.
