KNOXVILLE, Tenn. | Less than 24 hours after the win at Tennessee State, the Alabama A&M University volleyball team was back on the court on Thursday afternoon, falling in three sets to Kennesaw State to open play at the UT Knoxville Tournament at the Food City Center.
Kennesaw State (6-3) won the 3-0 match with scores of 25-19, 25-17 and 25-14.
Alabama A&M (8-3) finished with 28 kills, 41 digs, 27 assists, two service aces and two total team blocks.
Rayishon Jackman led the Bulldogs with 10 kills, hitting .308, with nine digs and one service ace.
Nisaan Martinez chipped in eight kills and a pair of digs.
Briana Smith tallied 14 assists and
Kelani Talakai led the defense with 10 digs.
Kennesaw State recorded 48 kills, 45 assists, 41 digs, nine total team blocks and three service aces.
Manu Johnsen nearly posted a double-double, registering 18 kills and nine digs. Kourtney Brown and Kaeley Walz each added 18 assists, while Leah Freeman posted a match-high 11 digs.
